Must Haves for a Family Disneyland Trip

Prepping for a family Disneyland trip could be a task. If you want to have a truly magical time, there are some things you can do that will help make it perfect. Here’s 8 Most important items for making your Disneyland trip go smoothly.

1 - Good shoes. Bring a great pair of walking shoes as the feet will be stomping all over the place, even running to every ride if you’re like us! Sandals might seem easy, but following a whole day walking inside them, you’ll be wanting something more supportive. So be sure to bring a good pair of shoes, filled with comfy socks.

2 - Matching shirts. Disneyland is commonly a crowded place. It’s smart to wear similar shirts like a family so everyone can easily be spotted. Even if you geek in Mickey and Minnie attire, who cares, you’re at Disneyland. Or be like my sister and her group of 10 and all wear NEON green shirts, ensuring they spotted each other within the crowds!

3 - A babysitter for that baby. Yes, we made it happen. Thanks to the help of close friends and family, we left our 12 months old at home. And oh can one tell you it was worth it once we were able to cruise the park fast and furiously. I simply hope one day she won’t say “Remember that certain time when you left me home?” But she’ll get her turn eventually soon!

4 - Don’t your investment camera. We’re the total camera-at-every-magical-moment family! We take video, use our camera phone, as well as the kids get to take some pictures! However i do suggest on one from the days you leave your camera within the hotel room so you can just benefit from the park for what it is.

5 - Snacks along with a water bottle. When you’re at Disneyland from morning to midnight and also the lines are long, you’re going to find your children in need of water or snacks. It’s smart to bring a Nalgene bottle and some granola bars in your pack, then when you’re in line or have a rest, you can re-fuel. Otherwise you’ll pay $3 for any tiny bag of chips!

6- Fanny pack. You heard me, a fanny pack. They really sell some cool lightweight packs nowadays to carry all your park hopping accessories. It had been great to have a lightweight pack to help keep our traveling supplies in. No loose change goes flying out of pockets around the Tower of Terror!

7 - Stroller. Regardless of how old your kids are their little legs get tired. So bring along a stroller just in case. You can preserve it at the hotel or perhaps in your car, or rent one in the park. I promise it’s worthwhile. It will save you from sore shoulders and whiny children.

8 - Bring your appetite. There’s plenty of yummy “must have” treats at Disneyland. My spouse and i live for the MONTE CRISTO! I believe we ate 2 of these during our stay, yikes! But it’s one fun thing good quality to when we go to Disneyland. There’s even the Pomme Frites (fancy fries) from Cafe Orleans, the Mickey Ears frozen treats bars, and the frozen lemonades. Yes, we starve ourselves the weeks before to create room for all these goodies!! Here are a few great places to eat while at Disneyland:

Blue Bayou - just note, their Monte Cristo is just served at lunch
Cafe Orleans - across from Blue Bayou, also serves the Monte Cristo and people yummy fries!
Character Breakfast - you have to experience this once. We loved Goofy’s Kitchen.
Red Corn Dog Truck - on Main Street. Soooo good!
Dole Whip - while watching Tiki Room
Bengal BBQ - yummy bbq skewers in Advertureland
Are you currently planning a trip to Disneyland soon? OR what “must haves” made your Disneyland trip successful?

Holiday Stress: Managing the Spending This Holiday Season

We've talked about the issues that financial stress might have on a marriage and through the holiday season, arguments over money and just how you are spending it on presents for the children and more can seem inevitable. Making the best decisions on how to spend your hard earned money can be hard most of the year, however when it comes to Christmas shopping and searching for the right presents for the kids and more - it may a great deal more difficult.

Yesteryear Affects the Present
For a long time, my husband and I both designed a decent income with extra disposable cash and also the ability to shop with impunity. At The holiday season, we often over made it happen with our shopping and spoiled our family and friends. In many ways, we got the largest thrill in the world from playing Santa to as numerous people as we could which previous behavior definitely affects us currently.
We can not afford to go over board once we once did and rather than spoiling our friends, we've our daughter and our nephews and most we're shopping for. Despite our inclination to visit nuts, we have to budget - partly because of financial constraints as well as in part because we would like the gifts we share with have meaning. Christmas is usually a windfall of new toys for the children - it's the time they obtain a huge pick of presents that they have wanted for a long time.
But simultaneously, we don't want it to be they get every little single thing that catches their eye and we aren't going to put ourselves into severe debt to achieve that either. Christmas is really a favored holiday here, however the tighter financial budget means we must be prudent within our choices and it's a great lesson for us as well as for our daughter.
Here are a few tips on how to avoid financial pressure in your marriage in this holiday shopping season:
Be frank in discussing that which you and your spouse would like to get for the kids for Christmas and when you have to create a budget, review the Christmas lists having a fine tooth comb and become specific in eliminating our desire requests - the items the kids have requested because they saw it inside a thirty second commercial on tv
Discuss honestly what your son or daughter needs as well as what they need - for example, in case your daughter has 50 different dolls, she might not need more dolls - a minimum of from you and your spouse for Christmas
Have long and temporary goals for the holidays, putting aside a portion of the plan for holiday shopping and notice that the typical family overspends by about 25% of the holiday budget to check out ways to eliminate that out of your shopping this season
We promote giving at Christmas time and not simply receiving, so we always put aside some portion of our plan for Angel trees and more, our daughter has already been looking forward to doing that shopping herself and it is important to recognize that giving can reduce into the budget, however the return is the positive feelings you generate in yourself and also the lesson it offers your son or daughter as well
This may not appear to be the perfect solution to all of your financial concerns during the holidays - but it's a great place to get started and we'll be referring to more ideas over the next couple weeks as we head towards Christmas.
How can you and your spouse deal with the financial stress throughout the holidays?
